I would highly recommend CR-Home to anyone looking to buy property in Costa Rica. Randy and Rhoda were very generous with their time and expertise before and during my trip to Costa Rica last June. While there, we spent a whole day together looking at properties to get an idea of what I might want, even though I wa not ready to buy. They seemed genuinely concerned that I find a property that would suit my purposes, not just any property that they might be able to convince me to buy.
For a number of reasons, I ended up buying some property this month far from CR-Home's "territory." Although the listing was with another real estate agent, Randy continued to be generous with his time and expertise in phone and e-mail conversations with me, even though he was not going to get anything out of this transaction.
Randy and Rhoda's combination of professionalism and personal friendship is a winning combination in my book.

Returned from CR on Sunday. We just loved Rhonda and Randy’s house. We couldn’t believe one could build such a gorgeous house in CR. They showed us that indeed it’s possible and the cost is truly reasonable.
We’re from Vancouver, so we’re spoiled by the mountain views. Yet we were impressed by the stunning views that some properties in Grecia have. Randy’s “Dos Vistas” have phenomenal views. They are MUCH better than they appear on the photos. You’ve got to see it for yourself.
Randy was fantastic. I would definitely recommend his expertise to anyone who’s serious about buying a property or land in the Central Valley or Bahamar. Not only is he very knowledgeable, he’s fun as well. We enjoyed driving around with him and Rodriguez.
Definitely email him if you plan to come to CR. You’re going to need a knowledgeable and HONEST realtor.

I'll add to today's earlier post, that dealing with Randy and Rhonda was (and is) a pleasure.
I first met Randy more than a year ago, in early 2005; we returned in the fall of 2005 to buy land, and my wife and I made an offer on two manzanas above Grecia. The land was owned by about 12 brothers (!), so there was a lot of ground-work and leg-work to do that Randy did, week by week, getting everyone to agree to the sale and getting all the paperwork done. We were back in the States by then, but heard regular updates from Randy. The land also had not been registered in the modernized registro, we found, so that had to be done, too -- along with a lot of other factors, including making sure we had access to a road, and if not, that we could put one in; that we could build, of course; that there'd be easy utilities, and so on. Randy even checked with neighbors to make sure there'd be no problem with them if we built. It is unusual (this was a trickier purchase than most, given the brothers and that the land had not been recently registered), but the deal closed in January, and everything came through well.
We could never have done this without Randy and Rhonda's help. They were honest and thorough, and enjoyable to work with even through delays. Things take time in Costa Rica, and not everything will always go 100% as you dream at first. Just remain calm and realize that things eventually get done, but that you must be thorough and patient and do things right. Now we feel very fortunate to own this waterfall-view property. Good people work at CR-Home, helping others at a fair price. We'll very happily continue to work with them.
Best, Jeff

I just wanted to give a special thanks to Rodrigo for all he has done for me, my daughter and her friend last month. My time in Costa Rica was very limited due to my job and I thought it would be impossible to achieve such a task in such a short time taken on by Rodrigo. My daughter and her friend have been dreaming about living in CR for some time. Rodrigo found a place to rent that was very nice but a problem came about when the owner found out the soon to be tenants were female gringos. My Spanish is very limited which made another problem. Rhonda spoke with the gentleman and smoothed things over. Rhonda and I have never met and until that day never spoken. For her to help a total stranger she has never met or even seen tells me alot about her character and integrity. I can not put into words the kindness and hard work these two have done for us. My wife and I will be calling Costa Rica home in a few years upon retirement but the home will be much sooner. People like Randy, Rhonda and Rodrigo are one in a million. I am looking forward to many visits this year with my daughter and along with these visits I can personally thank Rodrigo and Rhonda for all the long distance help they have given my family. My extended family and myself have found our next real estate family. Again I can not stress enough the honesty, expertise, knowledge and character this family has to offer. For all your real estate needs you need not look any further.
Best Regards

I own land in CR. Before I purchased my property, I researched CR for three years. I wanted a piece of land on the Pacific North West coast near Nosara. At the time your service did not really deal with much in that area. Since then I have seen you branch out to the coasts, but only where you feel there is still good value.
Anyway the reason I am writing to you is to "Thank You". I have been to CR 5 times in the past 6 years, but have learned more from you and your website than just about anyone else.
You are only one of three People/Websites in CR that I completely trust to give both sides of each issue that comes up.

About two weeks ago we were fortunate enough to spend two days with Randy and several of his "crew". We were at the point in our search where we were certain of our eventual move to Costa Rica but we were not sure of precisely where we wanted to end up. And of course, we too had heard all about the numerous real estate "sharks" in Costa Rica. We first got an overview of the Grecia and Poas area. And then, only because we still were not sure, we saw their San Mateo oceanview property. We saw several samples of different houses and constructions and got a great overview of the construction process and its estimated costs. We came away with a truly accurate picture of what property costs in the Central Valley area and some oceanview property. And we now know what construction really costs. And, for those of you out there who don't know - don't believe anything you see on the internet. We did not plan to buy property and yet Randy and his crew, particularly Rodrigo and Steve, ( and Rhonda of course ) really went out of their way to present a fair and accurate picture of life in Costa Rica and what to expect. We were made to feel at home and when we eventually move to Grecia or Poas ( soon!) we will feel like we will be coming home. The other thing I would like to mention is that we saw how much work really goes into finding properties for presentation and sale to potential buyers. If any of you think that CR Home just takes phone calls and presents random properties for sale without doing any work - think again! I met the Woodpecker as well as Chito in Poas and I can assure you that these "scouts" really do work to find good AND reasonably priced properties. A great deal of time ( and obviously money ) is expended in finding great properties. Not enough good things can be said about CR Home and the people who work for and with them. ( p.s. that includes Lalo! )

I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent customer service your company provided me in the recent closing of my new home in Grecia. My home purchase was made seamless with your guidance through the Costa Rican system. I think anybody buying real estate in a foreign country have reservations but with your and Rhonda’s real estate knowledge, influence, people skills, professionalism and tenacity it made the process painless and resulted in a very positive experience. I appreciated your candor and insistence on my speaking with all the professionals such as the lawyers, architects, builders and local businesspeople to allow me to make a prudent decision. I am extremely happy with my new home and look forward to many happy years in Costa Rica. Please feel free to use my name as a reference and express my sincere gratitude to your entire staff for their exceptional efforts.

Is there a place like Palo Seco you (CR-Home) can recommend which is KOTY-free?
Sorry, I learned nothing from the KOTY rant - what exactly was her/his point?
I feel being a suspicious and resourceful person in the concrete jungle is helpful but when venturing into a new culture/country/etc... it has to be mandatory - right? This koty character comes across as just an unreasonable person... and perhaps is better left to fend for herself!
